Description
Antique Victorian Brooch Brass Sash Pin Buckle Oak Leaf and Rhinestone AcornsIn the late Victorian and early Edwardian eras, large sash pins/brooches, often resembling buckles, were a popular item of wear. Fashionable women would copy Queen Victoria's style by wearing a sash from over their shoulder to their hip. Sash pins were used to fasten the sash at the hip. Common characteristics include thick pin stems in order to pass through several layers of fabric, and simple "C" clasps.
This brooch is very unique. It features an oak leaf frame. The oak leaves are highly detailed. The metal of the leaves is also a slight different tone that sets them apart from the setting. At the center are two glass rhinestones that have been specially cut to form acorn nuts. The caps of the acorns are brass and are very detailed.
Measures 2-3/4" wide by 2" high.
The condition is very good with very little wear.
